Okay, so it isn’t exactly like this one…ours didn’t come with chairs and it has a pretty red rain fly instead of this white one; but this tent is a close approximation of where we will be laying our heads for 17 days in July. It is a very Canadian looking tent!

So, thanks for checking in as we are about to embark on our great camping/road trip adventure. There are some things that you, our reader ought to know before we get too far in to this thing together; we have very little camping experience, we have never driven more than 6 hours away from our home, we have never spent 24/7×17 together and we have never blogged. In spite of these facts and because we are afflicted with tremendous optimism and a shared willingness to overcome difficulties here we go, our little family is hitting the road in our Ford Focus.

OMG….. be careful,,,,you will have a great time with your kiddies. What an adventure. Remember to hang you meat up in a tree so the animals wont get it! I will be watching this great event online as you cross this great country of ours! Happy Canada Day, Jennifer!

Good Luck… I know you will have a wonderful trip and make lots of memories. Drive safe..and “don’t talk to any strangers”..lol Love you all..x0

No Strangers? That just seems un-camperly to me. I will be very selective about which strangers to engage. Okay? Meat in the tree should be easy enough, I am a vegetarian and the only meat we will likely have is bacon for Fox…I will make sure that he either eats it all or puts it in the trunk.

You could sew some nice red maple leaves onto the tent to make it even more Canadian! Do you have your fishing lines? Spooky stories to read? Plenty of Coke Diete?

Spreading your wings is cool! And if it’s a real adventure, then by definition it’s something you won’t have done much of before.
Sometimes you just gotta jump right in and try it. Your excitement about the trip is palpable…
